Ashlee Simpson is following in her older sister Jessica Simpson’s footsteps.
Life & Style chatted with the 28-year-old at her Elizabeth Arden Lounge photo shoot in LA on Thursday, where she revealed she’s in the middle of creating her first clothing line.
“Yes [I’m designing my own line],” she told Life & Style. “It will be adult. It will definitely [be different from Jessica’s.]”
But it’s not Ashlee’s first time dabbling as a designer. She helped launch a clothing line for tweens with her sister called Jessica Simpson Girls in 2011.
“It’s so much fun to get to talk to the younger girls and see what they’re wearing because they deserve cool clothes, too,” Ashlee told Life & Style.
Taking notes from her older sis will help, considering The Jessica Simpson Collection is the first celebrity-owned clothing line projected to earn $1 billion in annual sales. Expect Ashlee’s new line to definitely have a hint of her own style.
“I think there’s a time and a place for certain outfits, and for me, it’s also about comfort and kind of finding your own way with clothes,” she told us. “Knowing there is a time to mix and match and what mixes and matches [is always important]. It’s always good to try, though!”
And the blond beauty, who’s mom to 4-year-old son Bronx, is inspired by her talented family.
She says, “I’m always around my mom [Tina Simpson] and sister, so it’s just kind of a family thing.”
